DiamondDawg Insider – Trey Hunt – 2013 Outfielder

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs welcome Trey Hunt III to the Dawg Pound this year. Trey is currently a sophomore outfielder at Point Loma Nazarene University (Seas Lions). Through 23 games this season at Point Loma Trey has started each game and is batting .313 with 11 runs, 25 hits, a double, 9 RBI and 4 stolen bases. He is slugging .325 and has an on-base percentage of .364.

When asked what fans should expect of him this year he said, “hard work, no quit, playing with passion, intensity, energy and having fun.” Trey also told us that, “I tend to be known as a spark plug that loves to play on teams with high energy and fun surroundings. I love talking to people who have a lot of knowledge of the game and also people who come to support the teams that I play for.”

Maynard Blask inducted into Mohawk Valley Hall Of Fame

Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are please to announce that longtime local baseball advocate Maynard Blask (Click Read More to see Bio) will join former Major Leaguer Bud Harrelson as an inductee for the 5th Annual Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place at the Annual Hot Stove Dinner on Friday, April 19, 2013 in Little Falls at the DeCarlo Staffo Post.

“Maynard is very deserving of this award,” said DiamondDawgs President & General Manager Travis Heiser. “He has played a very vital part in keeping baseball alive in the Mohawk Valley” said Heiser.

National Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson will also be in attendance presenting inductees with their hall of fame plaques and will be available for a question and answer session during the evening with fans. Bud Harrelson – the first inductee in the Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame for 2013

DIAMONDDAWGS TO INDUCT FORMER NY METS GREAT AND FORMER LITTLE FALLS METS MANAGER BUD HARRELSON INTO THE MOHAWK VALLEY BASEBALL HALL OF FAME.

This year’s first inductee of the 2013 dinner will be former NY Mets great and former Little Falls Mets Manager Buddy Harrelson. “We are delighted to induct and honor Bud Harrelson,” said DiamondDawgs President & General Manager Travis Heiser. Harrelson got his managerial start here in Little Falls with the Mets in 1984 and led them to their only NY Penn League championship in team history. “Bud holds the City of Little Falls very close to his heart as it is the place where he started his coaching career and is honored to return and reminisce about his time here and the Little Falls Mets” said Heiser. Roberto Vaz to Return in 2013 to Lead Dawgs

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League are pleased to announce the return of head coach Roberto Vaz for the 2013 season.
