Fans the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs welcome Trey Hunt III to the Dawg Pound this year. Trey is currently a sophomore outfielder at Point Loma Nazarene University (Seas Lions). Through 23 games this season at Point Loma Trey has started each game and is batting .313 with 11 runs, 25 hits, a double, 9 RBI and 4 stolen bases. He is slugging .325 and has an on-base percentage of .364.
When asked what fans should expect of him this year he said, “hard work, no quit, playing with passion, intensity, energy and having fun.” Trey also told us that, “I tend to be known as a spark plug that loves to play on teams with high energy and fun surroundings. I love talking to people who have a lot of knowledge of the game and also people who come to support the teams that I play for.”
Trey is also very close to his family having two older half brothers (Dominic and Nico) but acknowledged that he was the only one blessed with athleticism. Trey currently lives with my father while his two brothers live with mom. Trey also mentioned that he is very close to his grandparents, Collis Hunt Sr. and Ruby Hunt, who are pastor and first lady of their own church and are a great support system in my life. He is very fond of his family saying, “My family is awesome and no matter what I do they are there to talk to and support me.”
We were able to catch up with Trey and as him a few questions about some of his favorites and here is what he had to say.
