The Diamond Dawgs broke open a close game with 11 unanswered runs including nine in the eighth inning to crush the Hawkeyes at Vet’s Park.

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – The Diamond Dawgs exploded for 11 runs between the fourth and sixth innings to crush the Outlaws in front of a franchise-record crowd of 2,161 at Vet’s Park

Playing in front of the home crowd, the two-time SUNYAC Player of the Year enjoyed a solid night at the plate in a lopsided victory over Oneonta.

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawg baseball team is hosting a kickoff “meet and greet” event for the 2010 season. Fans will be able to talk baseball, meet players, and receive autographs. NY Yankee great Tommy John will also be available for autographs.

This year’s Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs will feature some homegrown talent when their New York Collegiate Baseball League (NCBL) season begins next month.

General manager Travis Heiser recently received commitments from Cortland State outfielder Jason Simone, of Utica; Mohawk Valley Community College outfielder Kyle Richardson, of Rome; and Chipola (Fla.) Junior College pitcher Garrett Baker, of Rome.

Little Falls, NY – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are please to announce the team’s 2010 promotional schedule, including a mix of great giveaways and fan-favorite entertainment.

The DiamondDawgs will kick off their season with a bang on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 7:00pm against the Oneonta Outlaws with a HUGE Fireworks Spectacular sponsored by the Herkimer Diamond Mines. The Chairman of the DiamondDawgs, former NY Yankee Great Tommy John will also be in attendance to meet and great fans throughout the night.
