Townsend a hit both on and off the field:Burrows Paper Player of the Week

The University of Kentucky’s Tyler Townsend, a two year starter for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs is this week’s winner of the Burrows Paper Player of the Week. Townsend contributed his time outside of baseball to travel to area schools to promote the GetActive activities that took place for area youth over this past weekend. As a sophomore last year, community involvement was an important aspect of Tyler’s personal goals throughout the Valley, something that has not been lost in his work ethic and enjoyable personality as he returned for another summer in 2011. A Kinesiology major and member of the Wildcats baseball team, Townsend will seek employment in the sports industry upon graduation.
