2014 PGCBL All Star Game at Historic Dunn Field in Elmira

 

The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League and the Elmira Pioneers are proud to announce that Historic Dunn Field will host the league’s brightest stars for the 2014 All Star Game and festivities.  Fans will have the opportunity to see some of the nation’s top collegiate talent hit the field on Tuesday, July 15th.  The 2014 PGCBL All Star Game will be presented by Corning, Inc., CSEA, Hilliard and Multi Media Services.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to have the opportunity to host this year’s all star event.” stated Pioneers co-owner Don Lewis.  Co-owner Robbie Nichols chimed in, ” We have the most amazing fans in baseball and they have been great in their support of the team and our local ownership group.  The attendance numbers speak volumes about how baseball in Elmira is doing and having the opportunity to host the league’s all star game gives us another way to show other fans from around the league exactly what we are doing at Dunn Field.”

This year’s all star event will feature a fun filled day for both players and fans, with scout day activities to kick off the afternoon.  Gates will open at at 4:00 as scouts from MLB teams evaluate the talent level of the PGCBL’s top players.  The scout drills will be followed by a Home Run Derby that will crown a “Champion of the Long Ball”.

Additionally, fans entering Historic Dunn Field will receive free thunderstixs, courtesy of Hilliard and will have the opportunity to receive player autographs. At the conclusion of the All Star Game fans are encouraged to stick around for a huge postgame fireworks show.
