Rodriguez Named PGCBL Pitcher of Night

Ryan Rodriguez entered in the bottom of the eighth inning in the first game of Mohawk Valley’s doubleheader with the Watertown Rapids, and proceeded to throw three scoreless innings to pick up the victory. A Watertown run in any of the three frames would have ended the contest, but Rodriguez was able to extend the game into the eleventh inning, where the DiamondDawgs would pick up the win en route to a critical sweep over the Rapids. The Upland, California native has been one of the best relief pitchers in the PGCBL, working 12.1 innings on the mound without allowing an earned run. Rodriguez has struck out 15 hitters with only two walks in his seven appearances.
