Kyle Richardson almost single-handedly led the Diamond Dawgs to a victory on Friday night over the Albany Dutchmen at Veterans Memorial Park. In his first mound start of the summer, Richardson pitched seven strong innings and gave up two unearned runs on six hits to an Albany team that had scored 31 runs in three previous games against Mohawk Valley. At the plate, the Rome, N.Y., native collected a game-high four hits and drove in the eventual game-winning run with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Kyle leads the league with a .427 batting average. The Mohawk Valley C.C. graduate is headed to St. John’s University in the fall.
