Next pitching on two days’ rest, Baker came out of the Mohawk Valley bullpen on Saturday night to shut down the division-leading Amsterdam Mohawks. He faced six batters and retired five. The Rome, N.Y., native stranded the potential tying and go-ahead runs on base in the eighth to hold onto a 4-3 lead. He is 1-0 with a 2.57 earned run average through three appearances.
