Former Dawg Named Player of Year

Heck paced Union in several offensive categories including batting average (.415), home runs (3), RBI’s (26), walks (15), on-base percentage (.500) and stolen bases. Additionally, Heck was feared as an outstanding fielder as he boasted a .964 fielding percentage. The Clinton, N.Y. native along with Esposito are the first players to bat over .400 since Jay Warzala did it back in the 2001 season. Heck’s 37 stolen bases once again led the Liberty League for the second consecutive year. As of April 28, the mechanical engineering major ranked 18th in steals and fifth in steals per game in all of Division III.
