Flooding prevents DiamondDawgs from playing Friday

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. —

Rain once again disrupted the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs’ schedule Friday when their scheduled game against the Elmira Pioneers was postponed at Veterans Memorial Park.

The rainout was Mohawk Valley’s fifth in 11 home dates and seventh overall for the month of June. While no make-up date was immediately announced, Elmira has one more scheduled visit to Little Falls on July 30.

Friday’s game was called off during the afternoon hours when heavy overnight rain and regional flooding in the morning left the field saturated and the home dugout filled with water.

The DiamondDawgs play in Boonville Saturday evening against the Adirondack Trail Blazers and finish the month with a game at home — weather-permitting — Sunday at 5:05 p.m. against the Amsterdam Mohawks.
