DiamondDawgs sign Standout Catcher from D2 Lindenwood University!

 

The DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce the signing of All-Conference Catcher Ryan Sosnowski from Lindenwood University!

“ We are very excited to have Ryan for the summer 2017 “, said DiamondDawgs owner and president Travis Heiser. ” Ryan is a switch hitting catcher who as a true freshmen started every game at one of the most demanding positions on the field. Ryan is a very good defensive catcher who can control the opponents running game “.

“I’m glad to have the opportunity to play for a team with goals of playing at a high level”, said Sosnowski.”The club seems to care for all the guys coming in and the community that supports them. Everyone who has spoken of the DiamondDawgs has had nothing but great things to say. I hope to come in and help a team win in any way possible and create memories along the way. Hopefully the summer of 2017 win the DiamondDawgs is a way to better my baseball career and my future ahead of me.”

2016- Named honorable-mention all-MIAA … started all 47 games played … sixth on the team with a .295 batting average … second on the team with 31 walks and was tied for third in hit by pitches with eight … stole four bases and totaled 63 bases … ranked fifth on the team in runs scored (29), hits (49), and RBI (28) … tallied the fourth-best on base percentage with .425 and compiled a .380 slugging percentage … registered eight doubles and two homeruns along with a .991 fielding percentage … second on the team with 291 putouts and 332 chances … picked off two runs and caught 10 attempted base stealers … posted 15 multi-hit games with a six-game hitting streak … drove in multiple runs in six games and reached base in 25-straight games … tallied four runs scored against Harris Stowe and drew three walks … posted three hits and two doubles against Lincoln while adding one stolen base … hit a homerun with three RBI against Fort Hays … tallied 13 putouts against Central Oklahoma … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

High school:
Attended Fort Zumwalt South … first-team all-state catcher and first-team all-conference catcher … St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame inductee … Fort Zumwalt South Hall of Fame inductee … his best season with the Bulldogs consisted of a .476 batting average with 13 doubles, two triples, and two homeruns … with his club team, he was named to the Jupiter, Fla. all-tournament team.
