DIAMONDDAWGS RECEIVE AWARD

DIAMONDDAWGS RECEIVE HONOR FROM HERKIMER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are being recognized by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce with its 2014 Promotional/Tourism Award according to Chamber Executive Director John J. Scarano.

The DiamondDawgs, who play their home games at Little Falls’ Veterans Memorial Park, are being recognized as the member of the Chamber of Commerce that promotes the area through its attractiveness to those who are not residents of Herkimer County.

According to Scarano, the DiamondDawgs organization not only brings in players and their friends and relatives, but also players and visitors of visiting teams.  “These visitors go to the game, then stop at local restaurants, shops, gas stations, and, of course, utilize local lodging,” he added.  “Additionally, the DiamondDawgs go above and beyond the call of duty by providing clinics for local youth and assist in the greater Little Falls community.”

“What a wonderful honor,” said DiamondDawgs owner Travis Heiser.  “We are grateful for the recognition, but more importantly we are grateful to the residents of Herkimer County for their unyielding support throughout the years.  Without them, the DiamondDawgs organization would not exist, and the opportunity to be honored would not exist.”
