GLENS FALLS, N.Y. — The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs scored three runs in the 11th inning Monday and defeated the Glens Falls Golden Eagles 6-3 at East Field.

The DiamondDawgs, beaten 8-4 at home by the Golden Eagles Saturday, climbed back from a 3-0 deficit and won on the road for the first time this season. They stole nine bases as a team and Colin Hawk drove home the go-ahead run with his second double of the game.

Ben Brown walked Jake Glauser to start the 11th inning and Glauser advanced to second base on a passed ball. With one out, Hawk laced a double to right-center and Glauser scored to give Mohawk Valley its first lead of the game. Hawk stole third base and scored on a single by Zach Collett. Collett later scored after consecutive errors by the Golden Eagles.

Enzo Esposito pitched the bottom of the 11th and retired all three Glens Falls batters to pick up the save. The win went to Little Falls native and Herkimer County Community College General Lucas Godlewski who pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of DiamondDawgs starter Ed Lewicki.

Glens Falls had taken a 3-0 lead in the second inning against Lewicki. Mohawk Valley scored two unearned runs in the fifth inning against Michael Harrington, Godlewski’s college teammate and the winner in relief Saturday in Little Falls.

The DiamondDawgs tied the game with a run in the seventh inning against John Leiter. A wild pitch with two outs and the bases loaded allowed Trey Stover to score.

Godlewski and Esposito allowed one Glens Falls hit over the final five innings. Mark Powell singled leading off the 10th inning and was stranded at third base.

Hawk had three of Mohawk Valley’s eight hits.

Garrett Bernardo doubled twice for Glens Falls.

The DiamondDawgs are home Tuesday for a game against Watertown. Herkimer County Community College’s University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff-bound right-hander Michael DeCarlo is scheduled to make his season debut for Mohawk Valley. The Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year was 3-3 with a 4.05 ERA for the DiamondDawgs in 2013.
