DiamondDawg Troy Scocca Named PGCBL Player of the Week

The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League has announced that Troy Scocca (Mohawk Valley) has been named the Player of the for the week for the week covering July 20 to July 26.

Scocca, who attends Fairfield University, has been named Player of the Week after hitting .375 with three home runs and 10 RBIs over the past seven days. The 10 RBIs over the seven-day span were the most in the league. Scocca had an OPS of 1.297, which was top ten in the league for the week. His 8.889 Runs Created were tops in the PGCBL.

On the season, Scocca is hitting .346 with six home runs and a PGCBL-leading 40 RBIs. He has stolen eight bases with 20 extra-base hits. Scocca’s OPS currently sits at 1.012 with an on-base percentage of .417.

Scocca appeared in 40 games at Fairfield this year, starting 27 of those games. He hit .262 with a .333 on-base percentage. He did not make an error all season.
This is Scocca’s second time being named PGCBL Player of the Week. He also received the honor in Week Two
