DiamondDawgs snag former Herkimer General Star Ben Moxley for 2015

Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement with right-handed pitcher Ben Moxley for the 2015 season.

Ben is a native of Oneonta, New York where he starred on the Oneonta High School baseball team before making his way to Herkimer as a member of the Herkimer Generals. Following his junior college stint at Herkimer the 6’2 190 pound right-handed pitcher has been called on by SUNY Cortland to take the mound as a Red Dragon.

At Oneonta High School, Moxley was named 2012 New York State Class B Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Southern Tier Athletic Conference. He compiled a career record of 22-6 with a 1.40 ERA, 10 shutouts and 4 saves.

As a Herkimer General, Moxley pitched 41 innings tallying a 5-1 record and a 2.41 ERA with 46 strikeouts. In the summer of 2014 Moxley continued to refine his repertoire by pitching in the New York State Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) for the Oneonta Outlaws where he started 5 games tossing 33 innings and posting a 5.18 ERA with 27 strikeouts.

The Liberal Arts & Science General Studies major will turn to the mound in Little Falls in the summer following fall ball at Cortland. “We look forward to seeing Ben on the mound for us here in Little Falls – he comes from a great high school program and two colleges in Herkimer and Cortland that are well-known for their baseball”, said Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs Owner/President Travis Heiser.
