DAWGS SIGN ANOTHER CANADIAN

Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs have signed right-handed pitcher Brent Cleland from the University of Buffalo.

Brent Cleland, a native of Toronto, Ontario is a 6-4, 200 lb sophomore at the University of Buffalo. In his freshman season as a Bull he made 11 appearances starting 4 games and logging 27 innings with 27 strikeouts and a 1-0 record.

Prior to arriving at the University of Buffalo, Cleland attended Richview Collegiate Institute where he was named captain for two seasons serving a dual role as a first baseman and pitcher. In his senior season he helped the team to a 24-2 record, leading the team in home runs, RBIs, and earned run average. Under his leadership the team secured three city championships and four regional championships. Cleland also played summer ball for the Toronto Mets U18 team for three seasons and was a member of the Canada Cup winning Team Ontario.
