DAWGS RETURN TWO FROM 2014 TEAM

Little Falls, New York –The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are thrilled to announce the return of All-Star shortstop Colin Hawk and outfielder Mike Triller. Hawk and Triller were both key components of a 2014 DiamondDawg team that advanced to the second round of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) playoffs amassing a 26-19 record.

In Colin Hawk, the DiamondDawgs return their PGCBL All-star shortstop who batted .324 in the summer of 2014 with 22 runs, 48 hits, 11 doubles, 2 HR’s, 26 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. Hawk was second among 2014 DiamondDawgs in hits, doubles and RBIs. In 2014 the Beech Grove, Indiana native and Cincinnati University sophomore appeared in 40 games in the field with 33 starts and collected 22 hits with 15 runs scored and 10 RBIs. Colin has has transferred and is now attending the University of Indianapolis.


In Mike Triller, the DiamondDawgs get a hard-working outfielder who hit .229 with 11 runs, 16 hits, 8 RBIs and 7 stolen bases in 21 games. As a member of the ACC’s Clemson Tigers, Triller has seen limited playing opportunities having been redshirted as a junior but is a career .291 hitter with a .333 on-base percentage in 44 games (10 starts) over two seasons, he has three doubles, eight RBIs, eight runs, four walks and four steals. The Clemson Tigers baseball website credits Triller as “one of the hardest-working players on the team”.


“I wanted these guys back as soon as I saw them hit the field last summer”, said team owner Travis Heiser, “the work ethic and drive these guys possess is what we look for here – they will set the example for our newcomers.”
