Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are proud to announce that Steve Luby will be returning to the Dawgs for his third season as part of the coaching staff. In his two years with the DiamondDawgs Coach Luby has helped lead the team to its first Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) championship in 2015 and consecutive playoff appearances. During the DiamondDawgs championship season Luby helped lead the team to a franchise best 32 wins followed by a third place finish in the East Division in 2016 with 27 wins.

 

Coach Luby is a baseball lifer with 29 years experience in the game currently serving in his 6th season as an assistant coach with the Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) Chukars baseball team of the Northwest Athletic Conference and having coached 20 years as a high school head coach in Oregon and well as three years at the college level at Western Baptist College (Corban College) as the infield and catching coach.

 

Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs Owner and President Travis Heiser was eager to make the announcement of Coach Luby’s return saying, “Coach Luby is such a big part of what we do here with the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs and I am thrilled to be able to bring him back for another season. Coach Luby’s experience with the game is unmatched and his attention to detail and pure love for the game and for his players is something that does not come around everyday. When I first met Coach for this position I knew he was a perfect fit and having him on-board for a third season instantly gives us an advantage against the field – I look forward to seeing him where he belongs here in the Mohawk Valley for another summer!”

Coach Luby is in his 27th year in the teaching profession and has a son, Tyler and daughter Danielle.
