Baseball back in Little Falls with DiamondDawgs

The field remains a showplace, immaculately manicured, flat as a pancake, with the hills on the south side of the Mohawk Valley serving as stunning, leafy green backdrop.

They’re still playing baseball at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls, more than three decades after the Little Falls Mets and the New York-Penn League came to town in 1977.

Wooden bats don’t seem to bother Jason Simone, whatever the statistics say.

“I think there is a big difference,” said the Cortland State All-American center fielder and SUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Year. “The bats feel different. Personally, I like wooden bats.”
