The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs returned to Veteran’s Memorial Park in Little Falls Sunday evening to face off against the Albany Dutchman. The Dawgs entered the game with a 1-2 record after a loss to the Amsterdam Mohawks Saturday night at Shuttleworth Park, meanwhile the Dutchman fresh off a 7-5 win over the Glens Falls Golden Eagles entered the game with a 2-1 record.

$500 Center Field Toss Contest – June 10th
Come to the Game on Sunday, June 10th at 5:05 PM AND Sign up at the Scott Grates State Farm tent for your chance to stand in Center Field during the 7th inning stretch and have one shot at throwing a baseball to home plate. Winning participant will be drawn at the conclusion of the 5th inning.
There will be a Diamond Dawgs batting helmet sitting on home plate. If any part of the baseball you throw hits any part of the batting helmet you will win $500 from State Farm Agent Scott Grates and the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs!
If you do not hit the helmet you will not walk away empty handed. You will win a $50 gift certificate from the Brass Tack Restaurant in Frankfort as well your choice of gift from the State Farm tent.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to enter.
Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs drop home opener to Watertown Wizard 7-6 after 9th inning rally
The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs returned to Veteran’s Memorial Park in Little Falls, New York for the 2012 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) Home Opener against the Watertown Wizards. On the mound for the Dawgs was Joe Michaud (Bryant University) and Watertown started Bryan Chudy (Clarkson University).
The Watertown Wizards jumped off to a quick lead at Veteran’s Memorial Park after a home run by Brandon Roush (Texas Pan-American University). The DiamondDawgs went through four pitchers as the Wizards put up 8 hits for 7 runs to take a 7-1 lead late in the game. The Mohawk Valley bats were kept silent for most of the game with the exception of a solo home run in the by David Del Grande (Sacramento State University). However, the DiamondDawgs bats caught fire in the 9th as they rallied to score five runs in the ninth and had the winning run at the plate in Joe Carcone (Bryant University) before the rally ended with a ground out to the second baseman.
The winning pitcher was Bryan Chudy (Clarkson University) and Joe Michaud (Bryant University) picked up the loss for the DiamondDawgs. The Dawgs travel to Amsterdam on tomorrow to play the Mohawks and are back home on Sunday to face off against Albany.

Rain delayed the start of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs’ season-opener Wednesday but did not keep them out of the win column at East Field.

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs gear up for the 2012 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) with a roster full of promising young talent that will be sure to provide exciting and top-notch baseball to the great fans of the Mohawk Valley. The season kicks-off in Glens Falls as the DiamondDawgs visit the Golden Eagles on June 6, 2012 and return to Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls on Friday, June 8th at 7:05 p.m. against the Watertown Wizards. The home-opener will include pre-game ceremonies followed by a post-game fireworks show.
