Burrows Paper Players of the Week

Brummett, a sophomore out of Paradise Valley Community College has spent a good share of his time in the Mohawk Valley helping out and giving back to the area through events like the ReadAloud Program and also helping with the GetActive Weekend, which took place in June. A native of Salem, Utah, Selby attended Spanish Fork High School, which boasts one of the most talent-laden baseball programs in the country. On the mound for the Dawgs, he currently has a 3.86 ERA and has struck out 14 batters. When he is not pitching, you can find him coaching first base and doing his part for the team.

As a freshman this year at Herkimer County Community College, outfielder Hassan Evans maintained his reputation for being the strong-armed reliable fielder that the Dawgs are excited to showcase on a nightly basis. Evans has done his part throughout the community as well, making strides to help kids with reading through the ReadAloud program. Hassan also traveled back to Herkimer in June to attend field day at the elementary school to promote exercise and the importance of staying healthy while having fun. The 6’3, 200 pound freshman from Brooklyn, NY has 21 putouts on the year while maintaining a 1.000% fielding percentage through the first half of the season. On the mound for the Dawgs this week in Cooperstown, Evans showcased his ability by overpowering hitters with a fastball consistently in the mid 90’s, striking out three in one inning of work.

The DiamondDawgs, in conjunction with the Burrows Paper Company congratulate this week’s recipients of Player of the Week honors.
