Announcing Todd Allen as 3rd Inductee of Class of 2015

Little Falls, NY–The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce Todd Allen from Oriskany as the third inductee of the class of 2015’s Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame.

Todd Allen started his playing career at Oriskany High School where he was a high school standout. His senior year he hit .659 and still currently holds school records for career hits, career-stolen bases and career batting average. In high school he was also a 3-time league All-Star, League MVP, Mohawk Valley All-Star and All- State player.

After graduating from Oriskany High School Todd Allen headed to Herkimer College to play for Jason Rathbun. In 2006 he was named to the All-Conference team, first team All-Region and first team All-American. As captain in 2007, Allen was named All-Conference player, first team All-Region, and second team All-American and Herkimer College Male Athlete of the Year. He holds the second highest batting average for a season at .480.

After graduating from Herkimer College, Allen went on to accept a baseball scholarship to the University of Vermont, making him the first Herkimer Generals baseball player to attend a Division I college to play the sport. After his first season with Vermont, Todd found his way back to the Mohawk Valley and played summer ball in the summer of 2008 with the Little Falls Miners. He attended SUNY Brockport for his senior year, where he broke the RBI record and was named first team All-Region and first-team All-Conference.

In 2013 Allen was inducted into the Herkimer College Athletics Hall of Fame. He was the first baseball player to be inducted into the Herkimer College Hall of Fame. The Herkimer College Athletic Hall of Fame honors former Herkimer College athletes who have made an extraordinary contribution to the College through intercollegiate athletics.

The Hall of Fame induction dinner will be held on April 18th at the Travel Lodge in Little Falls (formerly the Knights Inn). The event will include dinner and a Chinese auction and will feature keynote speaker and former Major League Manager Bobby Valentine who managed the NY Mets and the Boston Red Sox. The event’s doors will open on April 18th at 5:30 P.M. for cocktails and autographs with dinner and program following. Tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and under. For a table of 8 people, the cost is $250.
