2014 Diamond Dawg Anthony Pastrana Named To Pecos League All-Star Team

LITTLE FALLS, NY– The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs are proud to announce that 2014 alumni Anthony Pastrana has been named to the Pecos League All-Star Game, representing the White Sands Pupfish of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Pastrana, who pitched for the Diamond Dawgs during their 2014 season, is currently in the Pupfish pitching rotation with another Diamond Dawg alumni, 2012 Mohawk Valley outfielder and former Herkimer College Male Athlete of the Year Hassan Evans.

Currently, Pastrana holds a 4.82 ERA for White Sands and a 3-3 record. He has pitched 46 2/3 innings, racking up 47 strikeouts in nine games of work for the Pupfish, which ties him with five other players for eighth in the league. His ERA is good enough to place third on the team.

During his time with the Diamond Dawgs, Pastrana held a 1-2 record in ten appearances for Mohawk Valley. He had a 3.38 ERA in 29 1/3 innings, and tied for the team lead in strikeouts, with 37. He also was credited with two saves during his time in Little Falls.

Pastrana will pitch for the Southern Division team during the Pecos League All-Star Game. The game will be played on July 11 at Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Diamond Dawgs wish both Anthony and Hassan good luck with the Pupfish and wish Anthony the best of luck in the All-Star Game!
