2014 Dawg Justin Thomas Named 1st Team All – MAAC

2014 DiamondDawg Justin Thomas from Rider University was honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at the MAAC Championship Tournament Tuesday.

Thomas was named the First Team All-MAAC first baseman.

Recently named the Rider team’s Most Improved Player, Thomas batted a team-high .341 in 2014, 65 points higher than his average last year. Thomas ranks second in the MAAC in RBI with 45, 21 more than last year. His slugging percentage of .492 this year is 150 points higher than last year. He ranks fourth in the MAAC in total bases with 88.

“Justin has made himself into a quality first baseman,” said Rider head coach Barry Davis, “and this produced at the plate.  His offensive statistics match up with most anyone in the MAAC and he deserves this honor.”

Thomas batted .337 against MAAC teams with 21 RBI in 22 conference games.
