2014 Dawg Jayson Sullivan Named To NEC All Conference

FAIRFIELD, Conn – Sophomore Jayson Sullivan (Charlton, NY) has been named to the Northeast Conference second Team.

Already having a terrific sophomore season, Sullivan took it to another level in five games last week. The sophomore center fielder went 9-for-18 (.500) with 10 RBI and four runs scored against in-state rivals Quinnipiac and Central Connecticut State. In a mid-week 11-4 win over QU, Sullivan went three-for-five with two runs scored and two RBI.

Sullivan easily topped that on Thursday afternoon against CCSU, putting together one of the best single-game performances in recent memory. The New York-native went four-for-five with a home run and six RBI in a thrilling 13-inning win over CCSU. Sullivan knocked his fourth home run of the season, a three-run blast in the sixth, before drilling a bases clearing, two-out double in the ninth to tie the score at seven. The bases loaded smash into right-center field capped off a four-run ninth for the Pioneers. The speedy outfielder added two more hits and a couple more RBI to cap off the stellar week. Sullivan currently leads the team with 35 RBI this season and a .443 slugging percentage.

Sullivan and the rest of the Pioneers will take on CCSU once again on Thursday afternoon in the first round of the NEC Tournament. The Pioneers and Blue Devils will be meeting for the eighth time in NEC Tournament history.
