Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs sign Herrera from the Lone Star State

Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are proud to announce that the Lone Star State will be represented in the 2015 version of the DiamondDawgs with the signing of Anthony Herrera.

Herrera from McKinney, Texas was a three-year letter winner in baseball at McKinney North High School where he batted .467 in his senior season and posted a zero ERA winning first team all honors which included All-District, All-Area and All-State as well as a spot on the Texas High School All-Star team.  Herrera holds single season record in triples and ERA at McKinney high where he was also an Academic All-District selection.

Herrera is currently a sophomore at the University of Louisiana Monroe.  In his freshman season Herrera made 40 appearances in the infield with 28 starts and batted .252 with 19 RBI, 16 runs and earned 15 free passes via 10 walks and five hit-by-pitches.  Herrera also made eight appearances out of the bullpen putting in 8.1 innings of work while allowing just two extra-base hits.
