PGCBL 2016 Coach of the Year retuning to DiamondDawgs for 4th season
Little Falls, New York – The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce that 2016 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) Coach of the Year, Blake Nation, will return for his fourth season as head coach of the Dawgs. In his three years at the helm Coach Nation has led the DiamondDawgs to playoff appearances in all three years and led the Dawgs to their first PGCBL championship in 2015 and a #1 ranking in New York State among Summer Collegiate baseball teams and 16th overall in the country. Coach Nation has won over 25 games in each of his seasons with the DiamondDawgs and in 2015 led the team to a franchise best 32 regular season victories and accumulated 85 regular season victories over the last three seasons.
Owner and team president Travis Heiser was eager to make the announcement, “Immediately after the 2016 season ended Coach and I have been busy recruiting and assembling our 2017 roster – we have a common goal when it comes to baseball here in the Mohawk Valley – putting the best team on the field and contending for the PGCBL title, so to say I am happy to have Coach back in our dugout would be an understatement. We have been very lucky to have two high caliber coaches here such as Blake and Coach Luby and it was my goal early on to ensure that continued. Coach Nation has led us to the playoffs, brought the Mohawk Valley a title and last year won coach of the year – I am excited to see what’s next. I know that with these coaches, our players and this franchise are in stable hands – I look forward to seeing what 2017 brings!”
