Pitcher of the Night: Zach Taglieri, Mohawk Valley (The Citadel)
With Mohawk Valley holding a 5-2 lead over the Utica Blue Sox, the Dawgs called upon closer Zach Taglieri to clinch the Central Division title. Taglieri proceeded to strike out all three batters he faced to punch Mohawk Valley’s ticket to the PGCBL Playoffs. The righthander from Port St. Lucie, Florida picked up his third save of the season on Saturday night, all of which coming in the last two weeks. Taglieri has appeared in 18 games for the DiamondDawgs this season, striking out 29 batters in 20.2 innings with a 1-0 record. He has not allowed a run in his last five outings, all Mohawk Valley wins.
